We are redefining the retail landscape in Australia and seek an experienced Training Operations Manager to lead our national operational training function.

Responsibilities
Lead the national operational training function across the OTR Group, including SMGB.
Manage and develop a team of 8 Operations Trainers to deliver standardised, high-quality training for 13,000 team members, supporting safety, compliance, capability, and commercial performance.
Design, implement, and continually improve the national operational training strategy in collaboration with Operations, Safety, People & Culture, and Commercial teams.
Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management to the Operations Trainers.
Develop and execute a national training strategy aligned to operational and organisational goals.
Oversee training programs including fuel safety, retail operations, food safety, new store openings, store conversions, and master-level capability programs.
Ensure compliance with WHS, fuel handling, and regulatory requirements with audit-ready documentation.
Deliver quality assurance through national standards, observation frameworks, feedback loops, and data-driven evaluation.
Engage with Operations leaders and Support Centre teams; provide senior-level reporting.
Manage the national training budget, resources, LMS administration, and external training providers.

About You
5–8+ years' experience leading operational training in retail, fuel, QSR, grocery, or convenience.
Strong understanding of fuel compliance, WHS, hazardous substances, and operational safety.
Proven track record leading multi-site or multi-state training teams.
Expertise in instructional design, adult learning, and modern training modalities.
Strong stakeholder influence and communication skills.
Experience with LMS platforms and using training data to inform decisions.
Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (desirable), or blended learning methodologies.
Must be available to travel within and outside of your home state.
