The Opportunity
This is a 10-month labour hire contract (with potential extension) to join a large federal government department through HorizonOne.
In this role, you will support financial management and executive decision-making while gaining exposure to complex projects and strategic initiatives.
The Role
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Supporting Directors in managing BAU and project budgets, including tracking spend and reporting variances
* Preparing regular financial status reports and insights for the Executive team
* Providing financial analysis to support decision-making and ensure cost control
* Maintaining effective relationships with Project Managers, Finance Business Partners, and Reporting teams
* Assisting in developing and improving budget management and reporting processes
* Ensuring compliance with organisational financial policies and governance requirements
The Ideal Person
You will be a finance professional with 5+ years' experience in the federal government, with expertise in financial reporting, month-end cycles, budget management, and accruals.
You describe yourself as proactive, detail-oriented, and able to provide accurate financial insights to support decision-making in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
You're likely to be working in the APS currently and bring a strong understanding of government financial processes.
To be eligible, you must be an Australian Citizen with the ability to obtain a Baseline security clearance.
Salary / Rate
* $65/hr - $75/hr + 12% Super
