Bidgerdii Community Health Services is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community controlled primary health care service, operating in the Rockhampton and wider Central Queensland region for more than 30 years and our vision is for Healthy and Strong Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, children, families and communities – self – determining, culturally strong, and thriving in their own way.
Our services include general practice bulk-billing clinics, social and emotional wellbeing and generalist counselling services, chronic disease management, preventative health screening, children and family health and early childhood education services.
About the Role:
The purpose of the Transport Liaison Officer is to provide professional, courteous transportation and medical courier services for clients, as required. This role is also responsible for the development and implementation of local marketing and community engagement strategies, to actively increase awareness, access and uptake of health services.

About You:
You a compassionate, optimistic individual wanting to make a difference in peoples lives especially our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community and also have the following:
* Hold a current, unrestricted "C" class Driver's Licence
* Demonstrate an excellent driving record with knowledge and understanding of Road Traffic Regulations
* Demonstrated understanding of the health issues in Aboriginal Communities.
* Demonstrated competence in use of Business technology and desktop applications; internet, word, spreadsheet and database packages.
* Ability to read and use maps and street directory.
* Ability to understand transport schedules and coordinate transport appointments in line with patient needs.
* Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, including a diverse client base.
* Ability to work within a team base environment and autonomously as required.
Practical Requirements:
* Immunisation requirements – It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against the following vaccine preventable diseases: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis A and Pertussis (whooping cough) during their employment.
* Current CPR and First Aid Certificate.
* Current Blue Card (Working with Children and young people) or willingness to apply for a Blue Card.
* Satisfactory Police Criminal History Check.
