The Mission: Driving B2B lead nurture for a strategic marketing agency
The Walk Agency is a strategic, integrated marketing partner specialising in B2B, Tech, and professional services. We require a highly skilled, certified Marketo Specialist to act as a fractional extension of our digital team.
Your mission will be to manage, build, and optimise complex email marketing campaigns and programs for our enterprise-level clients, ensuring high deliverability, technical accuracy, and strategic alignment.
This role is initially a contract/freelance engagement (up to 20 hours/week) but has the potential to convert into a permanent staff role within the next 6 months, working on site with us at our Melbourne or Sunshine Coast office.
Core deliverables & responsibilities
Your focus will be on the execution and optimisation of email programs within Marketo.
* Marketo program build – Design, build, and deploy complex Marketo Engagement Programs and nurturing campaigns (e.g., scoring, progressive profiling). Expertise in Marketo Program Flow and segmentation logic.
* Email development – Translate approved designs/wireframes into highly responsive, custom‑coded email templates or use existing templates for build‑out. Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS (for email), and modular design.
* Web integration (future focus) – (Highly desired for long‑term fit) Perform minor updates or content edits within client CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Webflow) that integrate with Marketo landing pages. Experience with basic web builds/editing (demonstrates full‑funnel thinking).
* QA & optimisation – Conduct rigorous testing (A/B, Litmus, inbox delivery) and report on key metrics (Deliverability, open rate, CTR). Certification preferred; must demonstrate exceptional attention to detail.
Must-have skills & qualifications
* Marketo expertise: Proven, hands‑on experience designing and executing email marketing automation programs in Marketo. Marketo Certified Expert (MCE) is highly preferred.
* Technical proficiency: Strong fluency in HTML and CSS specifically for email development (understanding how to overcome rendering issues in Outlook/Gmail).
* B2B/Enterprise experience: Experience working with complex segmentation and lead funnels typical of B2B or SaaS clients.
* Agency mindset: Ability to manage multiple client projects concurrently and communicate effectively with agency account leads.
