**Description**:
In conjunction with the Employment, Training and Education Specialist, coordinate the implementation of the Pathways to Employment: Connecting Refugee Women to Employment Project by working collaboratively with local businesses and potential employers to assist and empower refugee and migrant women to build their employability skills and find employment in their field of chosen career.
To work with Employment, Training and Education Specialist to assist skilled refugee and migrant jobseekers to improve their employability skills and find suitable employment by facilitating their connection and interaction with employers from different industries, including Engineering, Finance/Administration, Manufacturing and Warehousing/Logistics.
Multicultural Communities at CORE Community Services is looking for a high performing individual who is passionate about making a difference in the life of newly arrived refugees, humanitarian entrants and vulnerable migrants in South West Sydney. As an Employment Project Officer, you will use your skills and experience in community engagement, capacity building and partnership building with employers to coordinate and deliver the flowing projects:
**Pathways to Employment**: Connecting Refugee Women to Employment Project
**Bridges to Employment**: Connecting Refugee and Migrant Jobseekers with Employers Project
The Employment Project Officer will be based at CORE Community Services head office in Cabramatta with regular travel required across Fairfield and surrounding LGAs in South-West Sydney to deliver the projects. The projects aim to assist and engage jobseekers from refugee and migrant backgrounds, particularly women, to navigate employment and career pathways. The projects also aim to plan and facilitate activities and initiatives that enable refugee and migrant jobseekers connected to opportunities with the overall aim to achieve meaningful employment. These projects build on and are logical extension of the work that CORE Community Services has been doing for many years to support and empower multicultural communities in South-West Sydney in settling well and integrating more successfully in Australia.
**Responsibilities Include**:
Coordinate project planning and implementation in the Pathways to Employment and Bridges to Employment projects in liaison with the Employment, Education and Training Specialist throughout the project implementation period.
Identify the needs of project participants and provide required support and assistance to achieve the intended goals.
Facilitate capacity building and career development for project participants through building their employability skills, mentoring support, connection with employers, training, internships and post-placement support.
Work with Employment, Training and Education Specialist to support unemployed skilled refugees and migrants to improve their employability skills and find suitable employment by facilitating their connection and interaction with employers from four industries (Engineering, Finance/Administration, Manufacturing and Warehousing/Logistics).
Establish positive working relationship with key stakeholders from businesses, employers, GTOs, RTOs and employment support services required to achieve outcomes for project participants and establish a pool of volunteer mentors to provide career advice and mentoring to unemployed women and other skilled refugee and migrant jobseekers.
Provide follow up and mentoring support to project participants in relation to training and employment pathways they are involved in. Help in facilitation of placement of killed refugees and migrants into internship, apprenticeship, and volunteering opportunities in their relevant industries and provide mentoring and support during post-employment and post-internship period.
Work with Employment, Training and Education Specialist to plan and implement four industry-specific forums in South-Western Sydney with will attract participants and key stakeholders from employers, corporate businesses, local, government, and non-government organisations aiming at building engagement and connections with skilled refugees and migrants in their respective careers.
