Role Overview
The Cloud Architect will play a key role in delivering a large-scale hybrid cloud transformation program. This position is responsible for designing, guiding, and governing cloud and hybrid solutions across on-premise and public cloud environments, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards and business outcomes.
The role suits a senior architect with strong hands-on experience across AWS and Azure, a deep understanding of networking, and the ability to design pragmatic solutions within complex enterprise environments such as higher education.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the design and architecture of hybrid cloud solutions across on-prem, AWS, and Azure platforms
* Develop architecture patterns and solution designs to support cloud migration and modernisation initiatives
* Provide architectural oversight across networking, connectivity, identity, and security domains
* Collaborate closely with infrastructure, cloud, security, and delivery teams to ensure cohesive solutions
* Support cloud strategy development, technical decision-making, and architecture governance
* Produce and maintain architecture documentation, diagrams, and roadmaps
* Provide technical leadership and guidance to project teams and stakeholders
Key Skills & Experience
* Demonstrated experience in a
Cloud Architect
or Senior Infrastructure Architect role
* Strong hands-on experience with
AWS and Microsoft Azure
* Proven expertise in
hybrid cloud architectures
, including integration with on-prem environments
* Strong networking knowledge including routing, connectivity, and security principles
* Experience delivering large-scale transformation or migration programs
* Background in
higher education or other complex, regulated enterprise environments
is highly desirable
* Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and documentation skills
