About the role
CQG Consulting is seeking an experienced and driven Business Services Unit (BSU) Manager to lead our Rockhampton-based BSU team.
This is a pivotal management role responsible for overseeing the day-to-day delivery of business support functions to ensure our operations run smoothly and efficiently. Reporting to our General Manager, the BSU Manager will lead and support a small team while working closely with our Quality and Contracts Manager and the Executive team to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence across the business.
The role will provide high-level administrative management and support, contributing to the effective operation and continual enhancement of our business systems. This includes maintaining compliance for our certified management systems, assisting with risk management processes, and coordinating business operations across the company.
Your focus will be on managing people, systems and processes to ensure CQG's business services, administration, quality, compliance, and risk support, are delivered effectively and consistently across all offices.
About you
You will be an organised and proactive professional who thrives on structure, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. With at least five years' experience in a business operations or corporate services role, you have a proven record of managing and mentoring a small team and are confident juggling competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and discretion. You are solutions-focused, highly organised and comfortable working across multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
You bring excellent written and verbal communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the business, including interfacing with the executive team. Experience working within business management systems, preferably those certified against ISO standards, along with knowledge of risk, contractor management, commercial acumen, and quality or compliance frameworks will be highly regarded.
Your strong interpersonal skills allow you to build trusted working relationships and positively influence outcomes. A current Australian driver's licence is essential, and occasional travel to our other offices or project sites may be required.
