About the role
The Research Assistant assists the Congress Research team to engage the community in research activities. This position has a particular focus on recruiting participants and collecting research data, as well as supporting the research team with other tasks as needed.
To be considered for this position, you will require:
* Be of Aboriginal descent; identify as an Aboriginal person; and are accepted as an Aboriginal person by the Aboriginal community
* Certificate-level qualification (or working towards) in a relevant discipline (e.g. health science, community service, social science or public health) or relevant experience
* Demonstrated work or voluntary experience in a relevant field
* Willingness to learn research skills, including the ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with other ethical requirements
* General computer literacy, including basic typing, email and word processing skills
* Willingness, ability and appropriate levels of health and fitness to travel to and work from remote locations and to safely move boxes up to 16kg weight
