About the role
As a Senior UI Designer at CommSec, you will drive and apply our design language across various digital channels and platforms. You'll collaborate daily with engineers, designers, and business stakeholders to champion the CommSec design system and craft seamless experiences. A strong background in UI or product design, preferably in an agile environment, is essential.
Your team
The Digital & Customer Experience Chapter Area at CommSec includes UX Designers, UI Designers, Digital Product Managers, and Customer Strategy experts. The team evolves digital experiences across web and app platforms, working within squads across the business.
Your core responsibilities include
1. Creating detailed user interfaces for various digital platforms and channels.
2. Providing guidance, advocating, and contributing to the CommSec design language and system.
3. Applying systems thinking to anticipate customer needs within identified problem spaces.
4. Creating prototypes and visual stories to influence the future direction of experiences.
5. Developing design documentation for delivery teams in an agile environment.
6. Participating in design critiques, workshops, and agile ceremonies, maintaining feedback according to standards.
7. Collaborating with stakeholders across varying levels of seniority and backgrounds throughout the agile lifecycle.
What we are looking for
1. Exceptional visual communication skills, proficiency in Figma, and a keen eye for detail.
2. Experience designing complex, accessible, and modular design systems.
3. Understanding of code, working within design frameworks and tokens.
4. Experience designing for iOS, Android, and Web, with knowledge of Swift, Jetpack, React, or similar.
5. Proven success in managing and driving design systems.
6. A curious mindset and passion for learning new skills in analytics, content, research, and coding.
7. Confident communication skills with technical teams across multiple mediums.
