Description
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly capable Mechanical Engineer with proven experience in the water industry, ideally with focus on design projects. We are specifically looking for someone who brings deep expertise in water technology and treatment processes to complement and strengthen our existing engineering team.
In this permanent, full-time role based in our Adelaide office, you will contribute to the design, development, and optimisation of mechanical and process-related systems across both potable water and wastewater treatment applications.
In this role, you will:
* Participate in mechanical design activities for potable water and wastewater treatment projects.
* Develop engineering documentation including specifications, data sheets, drawings, and calculations.
* Provide insight into treatment processes such as filtration, chemical dosing, and UV systems.
* Participate in project engineering activities including design coordination, vendor engagement, and technical reviews.
* Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, quality requirements, and environmental regulations.
* Collaborate effectively with process, civil, and project engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions.
Skills And Experiences
To be successful in this role, you will bring a passion for quality engineering, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to achieving excellent client outcomes. We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications and capabilities:
* Strong knowledge of water technology, including treatment processes and mechanical equipment used in water facilities.
* Experience in the water industry, ideally with a focus on design projects.
* Demonstrated project engineering capabilities.
* Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and specifications for mechanical equipment.
* Australian-recognised Mechanical Engineering degree (essential).
* Excellent communication skills, teamwork, and effective management of time, budget, and priorities.
* Proficiency with engineering and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
* Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
* Experience in potable water treatment, including filtration, chemical dosing (disinfection and pH control), and UV dosing (highly desirable).
* Experience in wastewater (sewerage) treatment, including aerobic/anaerobic processes and chemical dosing for disinfection (advantageous).
We understand that every candidate's value is unique, and every individual brings their own set of skills and knowledge beyond just the role description, be that with broader technical interest and analytical skills or interest in company strategy and front-end advisory. So if you feel like you don't have everything listed below, we'd still like to hear from you if you love engineering, like working with great people and seek professional growth.
A requirement for this role is to complete a satisfactory pre-employment medical check and Australian police clearance.
