Bass Coast Health (BCH) is the sub-regional health service for the Bass Coast and South Gippsland Shires, with sites at Wonthaggi, Cowes, San Remo.
In order to support our rapidly growing population, we're growing our services and the complexity of our organisation. This includes adding a new $115 million hospital expansion and renovated facilities to ensure we meet the increasing health care needs of our region.
Bass Coast Health also provides high quality residential aged care to 59 consumers in our two Aged Care Services Kirrak House and Griffiths Point Lodge.
Position Summary
Applications are invited from Registered Nurses, to work in our aged care unit located at Griffith Point Lodge (GPL). Our aged care facilities are staffed by professional skilled staff, dedicated to the care of each individual resident. The team is led by the Nurse Unit Manager and comprises of nursing staff, diversional therapists, cleaning and catering staff. Our philosophy is to ensure and enable all residents to live their life with dignity and comfort whilst encouraging each to pursue their own concept of a happy, rich and fulfilling life.
Requirements of the position are:
1. Current registration with AHPRA
2. A sound knowledge of funding model AN – ACC
3. Competent medication administration
4. Excellent clinical assessment skills
5. Commitment to high quality aged care
6. Effective time management
7. High standard of documentation
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
9. Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
10. Must be able to work to a rotating roster
11. A sound knowledge of the Aged Care Quality Standards and recent Aged Care reforms
12. Valid Police Check
13. Working with Children Check
14. NDIS Worker Screening Check
15. COVID-19 Vaccination in accordance with the Chief Health officer COVID-19 Mandatory vaccination Directions
16. Flu Vaccination
17. Previous aged care experience
