**Why your role is important**

Librarians in Education and Research Services play a pivotal role in integrating innovative Library services into the student curriculum and supporting university research. Our team has the opportunity to directly impact future generations and drive innovation through services that support research excellence. The Education and Research Services department provides client-centred faculty outreach services to support the learning, teaching and research of UTS faculties and research institutes, and provide an essential connection point between the Library and our clients.

As Team Leader you will manage a team of 4 Librarians (HEW 6-7) and oversee their performance and development. Your responsibilities include effective management of Library Liaison services for several Faculties, including oversight of Faculty specific teaching, learning & research support/services. You will play a critical role in overseeing the University's Information Literacy training program, providing training embedded directly in the curriculum, and through co-curricular self-help and enquiries services.

Staff in this position are expected to work autonomously under broad supervision of their supervisor, University Policies and Library strategy. **As the Team Leader, Education & Research Services, you will**:

- Develop and manage a high performing team that collaborates effectively with other teams and units to improve and deliver high quality client services.
- Lead the design and delivery of information literacy and research support programs.
- Initiate, develop and maintain relationships with internal and external strategic partners and University stakeholders in order to work effectively across multi-disciplinary projects to enhance and improve the Library's service provision to clients.
- Develop and manage projects involving changes related to Library functions, which may impact on other areas of the institution.
- Oversee department, team, and service performance to evaluate and report on Library service quality, against agreed deliverables, as part of continuous improvement

**You have**:

- Relevant postgraduate qualification and extensive relevant experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education. Eligibility for Professional membership of ALIA will be looked on favourably.
- Demonstrated experience in the effective management of academic library services that support learning, teaching and research.
- Proven ability to mentor, lead and develop collaborative high performing groups and/or teams
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills resulting in collaboration and partnerships with faculties and support units, and improvements to the client experience.
- Demonstrated skills in project management, working successfully under pressure,, balancing multiple priorities to achieve Library and University objectives, meet deadlines, and deliver desired outcomes.

**Remuneration**

**Base Salary Range: $113,282 to $129,017 (HEW 8)**

This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.

This position is **full-time **and appointment will be made **on a continuing basis.**
