Your role as a Rear Loader Driver
As a Rear Loader Driver, you will be part of an operational team responsible for the reliable delivery of waste and recycling services across the Shire. You'll work on a rotating roster across a 7‐day spread from Monday to Sunday, commencing from 4:00am, as part of a 9‐day fortnight.
Your day‐to‐day responsibilities include operating rear loader waste vehicles in a safe and compliant manner, completing pre‐start checks, assisting with collection activities, and undertaking basic vehicle care and maintenance. The work is hands‐on and physically active, and your contribution will have a direct impact on the cleanliness and presentation of the Shire.
About You
You're a reliable and safety‐focused professional who understands the value of essential community services and takes pride in your work.
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
* Experience in waste services or a similar driving/operations role
* Physical fitness to manage manual handling and outdoor work
* Strong communication and teamwork abilities
* Basic data entry and mobile device skills
* Knowledge of National Heavy Vehicle Law
* Familiarity with Sutherland Shire streets and suburbs (advantageous)
