ABOUT THE ROLE
The Cost Estimator will join our Estimating team to build our company's commercial fit-out and construction projects, focusing on estimating, budgeting, and tendering processes from inception to completion, responsible for compiling cost plans to provide a client or prospective client with products and services in commercial fit outs. This will be completed by working out how much a project is likely to cost and create budgets accordingly. With a detailed understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and market trends, this role will be pivotal in ensuring our projects remain competitive and profitable.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE
• Estimating at preliminary and final stages of Design & Construct projects.
• Complete and demonstrate accurate, competitive estimates in a timely manner to meet clients and internal stakeholder requirements and deadlines.
• Analysis and interpretation of architectural drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed, accurate, and timely project cost plans and estimates.
• Collaborate closely with design teams to understand and influence the design approach from an early stage, ensuring the most cost-effective solutions are adopted.
• Prepare and submit tenders, including bills of quantities and procurement schedules and materials needed to complete project costings.
• Engage and liaise with subcontractors and suppliers for quotations and offers.
• Manage multiple quoting tasks and time manage accordingly.
• Review and be able to analyse tenancy fit out guidelines and documentation specific to each project.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and other industry professionals to ensure favourable terms.
• Continually update the database with current pricing and supplier/subcontractor details.
• Monitor the market for emerging trends, material costs, labour rates, and other variables affecting project costs.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Over 2 years' experience within the construction industry in any capacity.
• Previous employment in a quoting or estimating role that included joinery quoting within the Construction Industry highly favourable.
• Proficiency in estimating software and tools favourable.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural drawings and specifications.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
