We are seeking an experienced and motivated Drafting & Compliance Team Leader to join our team in Norwest, NSW. About the Role
As the Drafting & Compliance Team Leader, you will play a pivotal role in leading our drafting team and overseeing compliance across residential projects. This role is critical in ensuring the production of high-quality architectural designs, alignment with compliance requirements, and efficient workflow management to support our Sales, Tender, and Construction processes.
What will you be responsible for?
Your day-to-day could look like:
* Leading, mentoring, and supporting the drafting team, managing daily operations and workflow.
* Overseeing drafting queries, plan amendments, compliance checks, and structural change approvals.
* Conducting compliance reviews from Sales through to Contract signing, ensuring alignment with NCC, Council DCP/LEPs, and developer guidelines.
* Assisting with DA and CDC requirements to ensure feasibility and approval readiness.
* Supporting Sales and Tender teams with technical advice on plan approvals, floor plan changes, and compliance-related enquiries.
* Managing drafting components of Tender and Contract documentation, ensuring deadlines are met.
* Approving or recommending design changes, balancing structural integrity, compliance, and buildability.
* Working collaboratively with Sales, Estimating, and Permits teams to deliver a seamless drafting and compliance process.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for someone with:
* 5+ years’ experience in residential drafting within the volume building industry.
* Strong leadership skills with experience managing a team.
* High-level knowledge of the NCC, DA/CDC processes, Council DCPs/LEPs, and residential construction methods.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD (Revit experience highly regarded).
* Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
* The ability to manage competing priorities in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
