The Role
Love working with numbers and people (and donuts) At Daniel's, we believe in making every donut count — and that includes every dollar too Now, we're looking for a Group Financial Controller to bring strategic vision, empower a high-performing team, and elevate our finance function as we scale into our next phase of growth.
This is a pivotal leadership role — ideal for a finance professional who thrives on shaping direction, building capability, and ensuring finance drives smart decisions across the business.
Reporting into our CFO, you and your mighty team will partner with our factory, production and retail teams to supercharge performance, sharpen costs and drive productivity across our sweet supply chain.
This is an empowering leadership opportunity where finance meets strategy, operations, and growth — and we're looking for someone who's just as excited about streamlining processes and cost improvements as they are about partnering with the people who bring our iconic donuts to life. You'll be embedded in the heart of our operations — from head office, our retail stores and to our factory floor
What you'll be doing
* Oversee the month end process including all financial reporting including P&L, Balance sheet and cashflow statements and associated board reports
* Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies – GST, PAYG, TAX, FBT
* Treasury - management of cash and debt facilities and associated covenant obligations
* Lead the annual audit, insurance and tax return process
* Ongoing review of all finance procedures and controls with a continuous improvement mindset
* Lead the budgeting and forecasting process
* Focus on inventory management, production planning and factory initiatives
* Key business partner with operational and business leaders to establish and report KPIs and drive actionable insights
* Key finance lead for all growth and system project streams
About you
* 10+ years' experience, ideally within manufacturing, with prior audit background in big 4/Mid tier (CA/CPA qualified)
* Demonstrated capability in leading and managing a finance team
* Strong in planning and coordinating deliverables
* Demonstrated ability to meet statutory obligations
* Retail / wholesale / FMCG experience required (directly/indirectly)
* Strong technical accounting knowledge (Accounting standards and principles)
* Prior experience in leading business process improvement and project management
* Proven track record of implementing a strong controls framework
* Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
* Financial modelling and analytical skills
* Exposure to ERP/Inventory management system implementation
