Our participants, Our people, Our purpose

Currently, there are around 5.5 million Australians with a disability. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 717,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and will mean a peace of mind for every Australian.

A new role awaits

Looking for an exciting opportunity to showcase your skills and make a real difference? The NDIA is currently recruiting dynamic and driven individuals to join us as Executive Assistants (EA) at the APS5 level.

You will provide essential support to our SES leaders across the agency, helping them to navigate a fast-paced and challenging environment. With multiple opportunities available in locations across Australia, this is your chance to join a talented team and build a career with an organisation focused on making a difference in the lives of people with a disability.

This recruitment exercise will be used to fill current vacancies whilst also establishing a Merit Pool, giving you the chance to be considered for future APS5 Executive Assistant opportunities that may arise over the next 18 months.

NOTE: In the application form we will ask you to select a location to understand your preferences.

Where you can add value

As an APS5 Executive Assistant, you will be at the forefront of day-to-day operations, providing critical administrative, secretarial, and research services to help drive the success of the agency. This is your chance to showcase your exceptional organisational and communication skills while working alongside some of the most talented professionals in the industry. This opportunity will allow you to showcase your skills and experience by contributing to the following activities:

* Coordinating meetings, travel arrangements and official functions on behalf of the branch manager, and other Agency staff
* Diary and email management, responding to changing priorities and timeframes
* Undertaking research and investigations as requested
* Scheduling meetings and preparing documentation for committees and projects.

Enough about us, let's talk about you

You will be highly motivated, possess strong communication and collaboration skills, and be able to provide advice on moderately complex matters to both internal and external stakeholders. While experience in an executive assistant role or the APS is desirable, it is not essential. Commitment to service and delivering quality work is crucial. Additionally, you must have a positive attitude towards people with disabilities, an understanding of disability's impact on participants, be able to manage confidential information, be adaptable to change, and uphold integrity and professionalism to align with our values and mission.

* You will work for a socially inclusive and culturally diverse workplace, that is making a meaningful impact to the lives of more than 717,000 Australians.
