Ship Vessel Operations Manager
Role Overview
A seasoned professional is sought to manage and oversee the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of a vessel. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the ship, managing resources effectively, and collaborating with stakeholders to achieve operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage and coordinate the maintenance and repair of the vessel, ensuring all work is completed safely and within agreed schedules.
• Develop and implement effective planning strategies to allocate resources efficiently, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.
• Collaborate closely with customers to understand their requirements and ensure that Maintenance Period Work Packages meet safety and operational standards.
• Develop detailed Work Order schedules and Maintenance Period Work Package schedules, prioritizing critical tasks and identifying potential problem areas.
• Manage Urgent Defect rectification, working with Customer representatives to define and agree on taskings.
Required Skills and Qualifications
• Formal qualification in Engineering, Project Management, or related field
• Demonstrated safety leadership at a complex industrial site
• Strong communication and negotiation skills, with experience in managing planning or execution of production work packages
• Experience in Ship Building / Ship Repair or similar heavy engineering industry and/or civil engineering field
