Chief Investigator Casino & Wagering

* Exciting opportunity to join Liquor and Gaming NSW, we're responsible for regulating liquor, wagering, gaming, and registered clubs in NSW
* This is a Clerk Grade 11/12 role with a salary range of $149,739 - $173,174per annum plus superannuation
* Temporary opportunity (27 June 2026 to 15 May 2027 with possible extension) based in Sydney NSW - hybrid working arrangements may be available within business operational needs

About Liquor & Gaming NSW

We are at the pointy end of industry supervision for the liquor, gaming, wagering, casino and registered club sectors in NSW. If you want a seat at the table, whether we're reviewing the latest facial recognition technology; advising Government on gambling reform policy; developing initiatives to increase live music venues and festivals; or investigating unlawful liquor or gambling inducement practices, we want to talk to you.

About The Role

Lead and manage the efficient, innovative and effective delivery of intelligence-led, risk-based investigation and enforcement activities of staff who administer authorised legislation for the protection of the public,businesses and communities in NSW

Essential Requirements

* Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent relevant professional experience
* Appointment and ongoing assignment may be subject to restrictions and the satisfactory participation in mandatory pre-employment and ongoing probity screening, in accordance with relevant Legislation and/or related policies
* The person/s assigned to this position will be appointed as a key official and subject to the associated restrictions under section 16(1) of the Gaming and Liquor Administration Act 2007 and section 86 of the Casino Control Act 1992
* A current Class C Drivers License
* Regular travel throughout NSW with occasional interstate travel

About You

We are looking for someone with the following key knowledge and experience:

* Stakeholder management expertise and experience navigating through government processes combined with strong leadership skills and the ability to drive performance in complex, politically and commercially sensitive environment
* Demonstrated experience working at a senior or executive level in a complex organisation delivering specialist and authoritative advice to executive leadership
* Extensive experience in the formal conduct of investigations or inspections or similar field
