Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Surgery Caregiver to join our team at Avenel Equine Hospital. This is a seasonal, full-time position starting in July 2025 and continuing until January/February 2026 with the possibility of ongoing work.
Job Summary
The successful candidate will contribute to the daily function of our surgery by working alongside surgeons, interns, anaesthetists, nurses, and support staff while focusing on delivering exceptional patient care. You will have the opportunity to develop your skill set through training and mentoring junior nurses in surgery to maintain high standards of patient care.
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure effective patient care and management
* Develop and implement nursing procedures to improve patient outcomes
* Mentor and train junior nurses in surgery to maintain high standards of patient care
Requirements
* Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or higher qualification
* Experience in equine surgery
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
