We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Disability Support Worker to join our team, providing one-on-one support to a client in Budgewoi living with a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and presenting with challenging behaviours.
The role requires strong behaviour management skills, excellent communication, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Responsibilities include supporting daily living activities, facilitating community access, and assisting with personal goal achievement, while always promoting the client's independence and dignity.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in complex care, a solid understanding of behaviour support strategies, and a strong commitment to person-centred care. This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute meaningfully and make a genuine difference in someone's life.
Requirements:
* Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support, or equivalent
* Proven experience supporting clients with TBI and/or challenging behaviours
* Strong understanding of behaviour support strategies and positive behaviour support plans.
* Excellent communication and de-escalation skills.
* Current First Aid and CPR
* Current Working with Children's Check and National Police Check
* Current Driver's license with reliable vehicle.
* P.A.R.T. Training (or willingness to obtain) preferred but not essential.
