The Technology Service Owner is an integral member of the squad, actively contributing to day-to-day activities while leveraging their technical expertise to drive outcomes. Beyond their hands-on involvement, they play a key role in shaping the squad’s direction—motivating team members, coaching for performance, and fostering a collaborative environment. They are responsible for setting a clear vision and strategy, effectively communicating priorities and progress to stakeholders and the broader team. A core part of the role involves managing and refining the service backlog, ensuring tasks are well-defined, estimated, and prioritized based on customer and business value. The Service Owner coordinates new requests, manages cross-squad dependencies, and takes accountability for product and service decisions in a fast-paced delivery environment. They also ensure that all squad activities remain within the organization’s risk appetite. In partnership with the Technology Domain Owner, the Service Owner supports end-to-end service management, risk oversight, and delivery execution. This role is suited to individuals of any gender identity who bring leadership, adaptability, and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality technology solutions. What do I need? Acts as a subject matter expert across all crafts and capabilities within the squad, providing guidance and support to enable team success. Provides clear direction and structure while empowering team members to take ownership of their work. Offers thoughtful leadership by recommending effective execution methods while encouraging innovation and collaboration. Fosters a cohesive and inclusive team culture, promoting shared responsibility and mutual respect.
