What We Offer
Earning Potential: $125,000 - $130,000+ including reasonable overtime loading and generous allowances Inclusive of super
$44.81 per hour, depending on skills and experience
Tool Allowance: $17.90 payable weekly
Attendance Allowance: $32 payable on rostered worked hours
Annual Leave: loading of 17.5%
Ongoing Training and Development: Including in-house Heavy Vehicle Brake courses presented by a registered TAFE teacher.
Exposure to Advanced Technologies: Work on a range of vehicles, including Euro 5 & 6 technologies.
Licence Upgrade Opportunities: Upgrade from a car licence to MR licence, with costs covered by the company.

Role Responsibilities:
This role requires a mature and professional approach with excellent communication skills.
Your main duties will include:
Performing repairs on buses and other maintenance activities as required
Overseeing major repair programs, including testing, fault finding, and quality assurance
Conducting functional checks to ensure components are operational and vehicles are fit for service
Providing on-the-job instruction, training, and coaching to staff for maintenance work, inventory requirements, and record documentation
Developing the skills of the workshop team to maximise results
Leading by example, representing the organisation in an honest, ethical, and professional manner according to the Busways Code of Conduct
Maintaining all tools, equipment, and work areas in accordance with Busways\' standards
Liaising with the Regional Assets Support Manager regarding buses off the road
Assisting the Regional Assets Support Manager as needed, including undertaking higher duty supervisory responsibilities in the absence of the regular appointed supervisor
Ensuring staff have adequate training to perform necessary tasks
Raising purchase orders and processing invoices for payment
Reporting and repairing all accident damage as required
Performing ad-hoc tasks and other duties as directed
Our workshop staff play a critical role within the business to ensure our ever-evolving fleet of vehicles are continually maintained to the highest standard to keep our staff and passengers safe out on the road.
You can expect to be provided with all necessary training, this will include relevant information about our various makes and models of vehicles to ensure a thorough understanding of standards required to meet contract obligations.

The Successful Applicant Will
Hold the relevant trade qualifications (MVTC) essential
Experience in a similar role with the same level of responsibilities would be highly regarded
Minimum 3 - 5 years working as a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic
Mentoring apprentices to learn their trade and playing a critical role in their growth within the team
Day to day running of the workshop
Ensure adherence and understanding to WHS regulations and relevant company policies
Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
Have experience working in a team environment on daily maintenance and repair schedules
Apply a proactive approach with a drive for continuous improvement
Be physically fit to carry out the necessities of the role
Be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical check, and working with children check.
Be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or have unrestricted working rights in Australia
Hold a current Unrestricted Australian driver's licence issued by the relevant State
Highly Regarded But Not Necessary
Medium Rigid (MR) or above Australian driver's licence
