Network Engineer – Enterprise LAN/WAN
We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to take ownership of the Borg Group’s LAN and WAN infrastructure, supporting our growing national and international operations.
This is a hands-on position based in Somersby on the Central Coast, offering significant autonomy, where you’ll have the opportunity to design, maintain, and continuously enhance a high-performing and resilient enterprise network that underpins our dynamic business.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the design, implementation, and lifecycle management of our enterprise network, primarily built on HP ProCurve and Aruba switching platforms
* Monitor and optimise WAN performance to ensure high availability and redundancy across multiple geographically dispersed sites
* Manage and support Unifi wireless infrastructure at both corporate and remote locations
* Assist with configuration and ongoing management of Sophos XGS firewalls, including rule sets, site-to-site and remote access VPNs, and application control
* Proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks to improve network speed and reliability
* Work closely with IT support and systems teams to troubleshoot issues and enhance the end-user experience
* Uphold network security best practices across all layers of the infrastructure
About You
We’re looking for someone with:
* Strong expertise in Layer 2/3 routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), VLANs, ACLs, and QoS
* Proven experience in Aruba/ProCurve environments
* Solid understanding of Unifi wireless deployments in medium to large-scale networks
* Proficiency in configuring and maintaining VPNs and SD-WAN solutions
* Demonstrated ability to use monitoring and alerting tools to drive continuous improvement
* Experience managing firewall infrastructure and applying layered security controls
* A proactive, detail-oriented approach with a focus on operational excellence
Desirable Skills
* Familiarity with Aruba Central for cloud-based network management and monitoring
* Hands-on experience with Sophos XGS firewalls
* Exposure to Azure cloud networking (VNets, NSGs, VPN Gateways, Load Balancers, hybrid connectivity)
