Aod pre and post worker

Ipswich
Lives Lived Well
USD 100,000 - USD 105,000 a year
Posted: 4 September
Offer description

Lives Lived Well offer a variety of community and residential Alcohol and Other Drug programs throughout Queensland, New South Wales, and South Australia, helping thousands of people every year to navigate AOD related challenges and move forward in life.

A new 46-bed residential rehabilitation centre is opening in Ipswich. This facility will provide withdrawal support (10 beds) and residential rehabilitation services (36 beds) in a safe and supportive environment, aimed at promoting lasting change.

The service will be operational in November 2025, so preferred start date for this role is mid-late October.

We're committed to building a workforce that reflects the people and the communities we support. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and those from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Your Opportunity

The role of AOD Pre and Post Rehab Worker is based on-site, delivering individual and group-based counselling to support clients with entry and exit of the facility. We have two full time positions available.

Salary for these roles is $100,000 - $105,000 plus Superannuation, depending on experience and qualifications. We also offer Salary Packaging to increase your take-home pay plus a huge range of discounted products via Perkbox.

What we are looking for

Joining Lives Lived Well as an AOD Pre and Post Rehab Worker gives you the chance to work with a diverse range of clients, develop your skills in the AOD space, and be part of a group of people who are passionate about what they do.

You don't need to be an AOD specialist, but you will need to have a background in community or human services, a solid understanding of person-centred care, and know how to complete client assessments. You will also have the following skills and attributes:

* Client support and coordination including risk assessment and screening, and providing recommendations for suitable service support
* Understanding of evidence-based practice principles and how to apply them
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and ability to adapt these to your audience
* A calm approach and mature demeanour – along with patience and resilience, and the ability to relate effectively to a range of people, often in times of high-stress and emotion
* Solid computer skills and an understanding of the importance of keeping case notes and other information accurate and current
* Being a self-starter who can work autonomously, balance your workload, and manage your own time effectively. You will be flexible and able to switch tasks seamlessly

Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field would be highly regarded, but more importantly you will have passion, commitment, and a great attitude with a genuine alignment to the Lives Lived Well values. Our values are:

* We are humble, human, and full of hope
* We show up and share
* We ask: Why not? And what's next?
* We leave a positive wake

Our successful candidate will be required to obtain a National Police Check and hold a current Australian Drivers Licence.

Benefits of Working with us

You'll join a curious team that thinks differently and seeks new ways. We look to the evidence. We explore new ideas. And when we reach "better", we ask, "What's next?" Change isn't always easy, but we embrace it and support each other through thick and thin.

As an organisation, Lives Lived Well offers a huge range of benefits, which can be seen on our website, but here are a few of them:

* Regular one to one meetings, team meetings, and Skip meetings with your 2-up manager
* As an organisation LLW values diversity and inclusivity in the workplace
* Access to WellMob – social, emotional, and cultural wellbeing online resources for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
* An EAP for you and your family including counselling and wellbeing services
* Salary Packaging options to increase your take home pay
* Discounted access to a range of gyms, pool, and fitness centres across Australia
