We are seeking a motivated and culturally capable Team Leader - Coordinator Out of Home Care, Advocacy and Support (CAS) to lead and support a diverse portfolio of programs focused on improving outcomes for Aboriginal Children, families and Communities.
Responsibilities
* Oversee service delivery and provide day‐to‐day management and support to caseworkers across the following program areas:
o Aboriginal Child Specialist Advice and Support (ACSASS)
o Aboriginal Family‐Led Decision Making (AFLDM)
o Cultural Support Planning
o Targeted Care Packages (TCP)
o Better Futures
* Ensure culturally safe, high‐quality service delivery while providing expert advice to Child Protection Practitioners to support informed culturally appropriate decision making.
Key Selection Criteria
* Demonstrated ability to lead, supervise and support a multidisciplinary team of caseworkers.
* Demonstrated experience in providing cultural advice and specialist support to Child Protection regarding Aboriginal Children and families.
* Ability to participate in an on‐call roster as required.
* Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, particularly those relevant to Family and Community. Knowledge of current national and state government strategies and initiatives. Comprehensive knowledge of the Child and Families Act 2005.
* Experience in taking action to provide services that are inclusive of Aboriginal people and engage in learning about other cultures to better establish relationships and improve services.
Qualifications
* Minimum relevant Diploma qualification in Welfare/Community Services and/or Degree in Social Work.
* Beginning Practice for Child Protection Training.
Other Screening Requirements
* Valid Driver's Licence allowing you to drive in Australia.
* Victorian Employee Working with Children Check card.
* National Police Check.
