To support our mission, Raytheon Australia is currently seeking a motivated engineer who is ready for the next step in their career leading the engineering design team for the Space and Mission Systems, Mission Systems Enablers, Harold-E-Holt (HEH) Program. You will work within the Raytheon Australia Space and Mission Systems product line on the Harold-E-Holt (HEH) Program which consists of three exciting mission systems. Two in Space surveillance and one in VLF communications.
Reporting to the Chief Engineer, you will lead the engineering team responsible for the development and review of engineering change documentation, you will be required to make semi regular trips to Exmouth for engineering investigations and/or engineering change development and implementation, as well as to aid your integration into the on-site engineering team.
Your key responsibilities will include:
4. To lead all duties of project engineering management, process control, coordination, configuration control, and standardisation required of an authorised engineering organisation
5. Responsible for the delivery of activities within cost and schedule constraints whilst ensuring adhering to established processes and/or contractual obligations.
6. Schedule staff activates within the Technical Information/Task register and manage day to day activities of the team.
7. Lead, direct and review the work of team members in order to accomplish operational plans and results.
8. Be the first point of contact for engineering queries with the ability to escalate to appropriate SMEs, managers and/or discipline leads.
9. Provide engineering oversight for the design (inc. system safety, drafting, CM and ILS).
10. Establish and control the interfaces between the customer and the Engineering Design team for activities such as CRs, SSWGs, TWGs.
11. Execution of events in accordance with company processes and procedures (e.g., System Reviews, Audits and/or Verification Activities).
12. Manage the health and safety of the team.
13. Drive a culture of process improvement.
14. Manage internal & external engineering communication with parties within the HEH program.
15. Staff Management of the design team including hours worked, timesheet and leave approvals.
16. Recruitment and onboarding of staff to ensure the design team is fit for purpose.
17. Talent development for current and future workforce requirements.
18. Staff training recommendations.
19. Staff expense authorisation, review and approval.
20. Promotion and awards advice to the remuneration panel.
21. Maintenance of the teams duty statements to effectively execute work i.a.w the contract.
You will have:
22. A University Degree in Engineering or demonstrated relevant working experience.
23. Tertiary qualifications and professional development sufficient to attain recognition as Chartered Professional Engineer with Engineers Australia in a relevant engineering stream.
24. A minimum of eight years’ experience in operational and/or in-service support phases of major programs, preferably in Defence technology and/or construction related industries.
25. Practical knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects, and tactics within the work area.
26. Broad knowledge and skills within the requirements definition, requirements management, requirements analysis, design, or verification and validation technical or professional discipline with understanding of the impact of work on other areas of the organisation.
