Quality Engineer – CAF Rail Australia – Dubbo
Location: Dubbo, AU
We are currently seeking a Quality Engineer responsible for final acceptance of the trains by the Customer, managing documentation and coordinating activities to ensure that the quality of the final product is up to the highest standards.
The role requires liaising with customers regarding product acceptance, reviewing specifications and modifications, and reporting quality concerns back to the applicable manufacturing plant.
General Responsibilities
* Manage quality projects to meet specific requirements and satisfy customers.
* Participate in various improvement plans.
* Investigate and identify possible risks.
* Improve business processes to ensure high quality of products.
* Facilitate adequate communication with all stakeholders to support projects.
* Assist manufacturing with analysis and problem solving as required.
* Conduct analysis to produce indicators, statistics and presentations.
* Promote a quality culture throughout the Company.
* Manage priorities in alignment with objectives.
* Ensure compliance with all Australian WHSE legislation and HSE Company policy.
* Be fully familiar and conversant with department and Company policies, procedures and processes, ensuring all work and actions undertaken are fully compliant at all times.
* Support other departments and carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate, as reasonably expected by line manager.
* Ensure all work is compliant with organisational quality management systems, policies and procedures.
* Perform other ad‐hoc duties and special projects as required.
Record Keeping
* Ensure accurate records are completed and maintained in accordance with procedures and keep work in progress communicated to line managers and team members.
Health & Safety
* Carry out Health & Safety inspections in accordance with the Health & Safety policy and procedure, ensuring actions are completed and progress reported.
* Ensure all work within the team(s) complies with Australian Health & Safety legislation and organisational policies and procedures.
General
* Participate in team and one‐to‐one meetings, undertake appropriate training relevant to the role.
* Keep up to date with developments, policies and procedures within the Company that influence day‐to‐day activities.
* Promote the Company by appropriate and available means to maintain a positive image for internal and external customers and clients.
* Maintain complete confidentiality regarding the Company, its dealings, transactions, and all other information relating to clients, customers and staff.
* Demonstrate commitment to the aims and objectives of the Company and implement its Equal Opportunities policy in the workplace.
Qualifications
* At least five years of experience in a similar or related role.
* Possess a tertiary qualification relevant to the position such as a Higher Engineering Diploma, Master's Degree, Engineering Diploma or Bachelor's Degree.
* Experience with office management software, e.g. MS Office (Excel and Word).
