This is an exceptional opportunity for the right candidate to become an integral part of this dynamic company.As a key member of the Engineering team, you will be required to work directly with the Pearl Farm Engineering Manager to aid in defining all engineering project's goals.The Workshop Manager is responsible for manufacture, repair and refit pearl farm vessels along with fleet and farm machinery required to meet the demands of overall pearl production.
Ensure the vessels and machinery leaving the workshop are of good quality, suitable for reliable long service and are produced on time at best cost.
Develop the workshop as a facility to support and assist the pearl farms and the farm engineers.
Your accurate job instructions, good leadership and getting personally involved in the work are the best tools for achieving good results.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the Darwin Pearl Farm Engineering WorkshopCheck the staff's time sheets for hours worked against assigned job numbersEnsure all workshop and engineering activities comply with the requirements of the Northern Territory Work Health Acts and Regulations, Australian Standards and the USL code.Compile programs and set priorities regarding work carried out in the workshop.In conjunction with the Manager Pearl Farm Engineering and Senior Staff at head office, compile annual budget for the workshop and manage the affairs of the workshop in line with the budget.In conjunction with the Manager – Pearl Farm Engineering: Develop maintenance routines for farm vessels in order to reduce the refit load on the workshop and ultimately reduce the number of vessels returning to the workshop for major refits and repairs.Compile and maintain detailed specifications, drawings and manuals of company designed and manufactured vessels, machinery and equipment.Supply the staff with accurate documentation, work instructions and drawings, parts and facilities to carry all projects in the workshop or on the pearl farms.Ensure the workshop is adequately staffed with personnel to carry out work in the field without affecting scheduled production in the workshop.Oversee the pearl farm engineering purchasing group and spare parts store – to meet the purchasing and spare parts requirements of the Darwin workshop and the pearl farms.To be considered for this rewarding position you must be either an Australian citizen or permanent resident with full work rights and be the holder of an unrestricted driver's license – current at all times.All employees will be subject to a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol testing.Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.Be careful - Don't provide your bank or credit card details when applying for jobs.
