**About the role
Radiation Oncology Medical Physicists support accurate cancer treatment at RBWH through specialised scientific and technical services. This temporary part-time role assists the physics team in delivering safe, precise radiation therapy for patients.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
Participate in existing quality assurance programs for treatment unit performance and radiation treatment planning.
Prepare tables of data, treatment times etc. for radiation beam treatments and radioactive source applications.
Provide advice and data to planning staff in cases of unusual or non-routine radiotherapy treatments (this includes cases where special measurements are required).
Document results and procedures (including publication in the literature) and manage databases.
Plan brachytherapy treatments.
