What does a typical day look like in a shop?
In your 4‑hour shift (or more if you like) you’ll be doing a variety of tasks such as:
- Welcoming and engaging customers.
- Processing transactions through point of sale, including cash and EFTPOS payments.
- Sorting and pricing donations.
- Creating vibrant displays to attract shoppers.
- Keeping the shop clean and tidy.
- Following all shop processes.
What skills do you need?
- Friendly and positive attitude.

- Happy to work as part of a team.
- Flexible and willing to do any of the shop tasks.
- Commitment to your nominated shift.

- Minimum age: 15 years (16 in QLD).
- Completion of a National Police check (paid for by Red Cross).
- Requirement to complete an induction into our organisation and retail program.
