Top‑Tier Australian Law Firm | Sydney
A top‑tier Australian law firm is expanding its corporate practice and is seeking a high‑calibre Associate or Senior Associate to join its Sydney team.
This is an outstanding opportunity to join a high‑performing and collaborative corporate practice, advising on significant, complex and high‑profile corporate transactions for leading clients in the Australian market.
The Practice
The team is consistently instructed on major corporate transactions and is recognised for the quality and complexity of its work across the Australian market.
It advises leading Australian and international corporates, private equity sponsors and financial institutions on a broad range of matters, including public and private M&A, equity capital markets and wider corporate advisory work.
The practice operates in a highly collaborative environment across offices and disciplines, allowing associates to work closely with partners and colleagues from related practice areas such as Banking & Finance, Tax and Funds, and to contribute meaningfully to large, multi‑disciplinary transactions.
The Role
Associates enjoy exposure to a broad and varied corporate practice, spanning public and private M&A, capital markets transactions and corporate advisory and governance matters. The breadth of the platform enables lawyers to develop across multiple workstreams, with increasing responsibility on major transactions, including direct client interaction and supervision of junior team members.
You will also gain experience across a diverse range of sectors, including resources, infrastructure, energy, financial services, healthcare, media, technology and retail.
This is a permanent, full‑time position. The firm operates a hybrid working model, with flexibility available depending on role and team requirements.
About You
The firm is keen to speak with lawyers who have:
Experience within a leading Corporate M&A and/or Capital Markets practice, ideally at a top‑tier, national or international firm
The ability to run smaller matters independently and take responsibility for discrete elements of large, complex transactions
An interest in business development and practice growth, including involvement in pitches, client initiatives and industry engagement
A genuine desire to develop as both a corporate lawyer and a future leader
Strong client‑facing skills and the ability to build trusted working relationships
An interest in mentoring and developing junior lawyers and contributing to the broader team culture
