Business Development Manager - Sydney, NSW
Key Responsibilities
* Achieve personal sales, margin, and growth targets across new and existing accounts.
* Drive revenue from:
* New client acquisition and reactivated accounts
* Expansion within existing customers
* Emerging and underrepresented product categories
* Cross-selling opportunities across product lines
* Identify, qualify, and convert business opportunities within the NSW territory.
* Develop and execute effective sales strategies—transactional, demand creation, specification, and solution selling.
* Manage all aspects of customer relationships, including account planning, pipeline management, and opportunity tracking.
* Deliver professional presentations, proposals, and quotations to clients.
* Maintain accurate CRM records, call plans, and sales forecasts.
* Represent the company professionally in all interactions and client engagements.
Technical & Product Support
* Provide product knowledge and technical support to customers within the region.
* Conduct product demonstrations, training sessions, and support trade show participation.
* Collaborate with end users and consultants to specify or approve products for project applications.
* Offer market feedback on emerging technologies, trends, and customer requirements.
Collaboration & Teamwork
* Contribute positively to team objectives and overall business goals.
* Partner with internal specialists across divisions to deliver comprehensive client solutions.
* Share information, leads, and opportunities to maximise business outcomes.
* Work closely with marketing to support campaigns and product launches.
* Engage with product vendors through joint client visits and training sessions.
Requirements
* Minimum 5 years' experience in sales, business development, or key account management.
* Qualifications in electrical engineering, electronics, or business (preferred).
* Experience in industrial technology, IIoT, communications, automation, or electrical sectors advantageous.
* Strong commercial acumen, relationship management, and problem-solving skills.
* Proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
* Team-oriented, customer-focused, and driven to achieve measurable results.
