The Role
An exciting opportunity has become available for a customer focused Village Support Officer to join wonderful team at Abervale, Grovedale on a part-time basis. Nestled amongst manicured gardens, Abervale has all the charm of a country community with the added comforts of city living.
The successful candidate will work as an all-rounder to assist various areas within our village and serviced apartments, providing customer service, comfort, and support to our residents when they need is most.
Reporting to the Village Manager, your duties will include:
* Assisting with food preparations and plating up meals
* Cleaning and upkeep of workstation to food safety standards
* Preparation and setting up dining area and serve meals to residents for lunch and dinner
* Cleaning dishes and the dining area
* Responding to resident enquiries
* Assisting kitchen staff as neededli>
* Assisting our residents
* Responding to call outs
* Undertaking basic first aid
* Initiating emergency services where required
* Conducting welfare checks on residents
Shifts:
* Tuesday: 11am – 2pm
* Thursday: 11am – 2pm
* Sunday: 11am – 2pm
* Additional shifts will be required for leave coverage
About You:
A professional and positive approach is required at all times to ensure that all residents' needs are met. A background in either hospitality or aged care would be advantageous although not essential, as well as having the following:
* Exceptional interpersonal and organisational skills, ensuring smooth and efficient operations
* The ability to make decisions and remain calm under pressure
* Be able to multitask and work unsupervised
* A current Level 2 First Aid Certificate (or be willing to obtain)
* Basic computer skills
* Strong customer service skills, with a genuine interest in working with the elderly
