Quality Inspector

The Role:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and diligent Quality Inspector to join our well established Quality Team at HEG.
The role is permanent full time Monday to Friday during normal business hours and is located in the Bayside suburbs of Melbourne.
The Quality Inspector will be responsible for checking part quality, adhesion to process set up and record keeping across multiple divisions of a diverse manufacturing business. Including plastics injection moulding, aluminium die-casting, assembly, precision and high-speed CNC-machining and painting.

Key Responsibilities
* Be part of and contribute to an energetic and healthy team
* Inspecting product quality and recording outcome at each m/c on an hourly basis(in-process inspection), in accordance to Process Control Plan and other related inspection specifications.
* Ensure that work orders/job travelers are attached with the correct process control plans and inspection sheet, and the operators fully understand the requirements associated with these documents.
* Verify that correct raw materials and components are used to produce products in accordance to documented specification and requirements.
* Verify product weight and colour against set standards.
* Execute final inspection of products and authorize dispatch of finished products.
* Communicate with production supervisor to correct sub-standard product quality and escalate where necessary.
* Perform control of non-conforming products to effectively segregate defect parts from conformed parts.
* Ensuring that all quality control records are adequately filled and maintained.
* Perform all other related and incidental tasks which are necessary to meet the above responsibilities and as may otherwise be required by the company from time to time
Skills and Experience:
* Secondary/High School Certificate
* Vocational or Technical College Certificate
* Incoming, in-process and final Inspection of products in a manufacturing environment
* Experience in basic implementation and maintenance of Quality Management Systems
* Basic knowledge and skill in measuring and monitoring equipment
* Able to perform visual inspection on products in the form of surface condition, colour appearance against master samples.
