About the Position
Reporting to the Finance Manager, in this newly created position you will lead a team and help shape the compliance and controls environment. The position will suit a technically strong accountant, who is ready to own management accounts.
Team Leadership and Development
* Active development of a team of management accountants through structured coaching and regular performance conversations
* Sharing technical knowledge in month‐end processes, reconciliation standards, NetSuite, Adaptive Planning, and PowerBI
* Building team capabilities so responsibilities can progressively be delegated
Management Accounts
* Preparing and owning the monthly management accounts; P&L, variance analysis, written commentary, and month‐end close coordination
* Maintain and improve reporting dashboards through to operations managers to drive operational insight into business performance
Compliance and Internal Controls
* Hands on management of the monthly compliance calendar, including payroll reconciliations, AP/AR, GST, and statutory obligations
* Maintaining the internal controls register, conducting self‐assessments, and identifying gaps before they become problems
* Contributing to business case preparation for site expansions and acquisitions; financial modelling support, data preparation, sensitivity analysis
* Contributing to finance team's development of the annual budget and reforecast cycles
About You
You are CA or CPA qualified with significant management accounting experience, including ownership of month‐end processes in a multi‐entity or multi‐site environment. You bring experience in a senior or supervisory capacity, with genuine responsibility for the quality of others' work, and a proven ability to develop team capability and improve the performance of those you lead.
You have advanced Excel skills, including financial modelling, large dataset analysis, and multi‐entity consolidation. Experience with NetSuite and Adaptive Planning is desirable, along with the ability to quickly learn and work confidently with financial systems. You possess strong technical accounting capability suited to a complex services environment, including accruals, revenue recognition, intercompany transactions, and payroll reconciliations, together with a solid understanding of the relationship between management accounting, financial reporting, audit requirements, and tax.
You demonstrate sound professional judgement, communicate clearly with both finance and non‐finance stakeholders, and take a proactive, hands‐on approach. You are comfortable working in a fast‐paced environment and actively contributing to the delivery of an accurate and timely month‐end process.
