Job Description
The Muscle Nerve Lead Supervisor will play a key part in supporting the diagnosis and understanding of muscle and nerve disorders by delivering a specialized, reliable, and high-quality technical service.
* Oversee the examination, interpretation, and dissection of muscle and nerve biopsy tissue.
* Maintain robust quality control measures across complex histological, enzyme histological, and immunohistochemical techniques.
* Provide hands-on training, technical guidance, and mentorship to help others grow.
* Collaborate closely with surgeons, mortuary teams, and medical personnel, educating them in best-practice collection of muscle and nerve biopsies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
* You are a skilled and detail-focused technical specialist who thrives in a laboratory environment where precision, collaboration, and advanced histopathological practice come together.
* You bring advanced technical capability, including proven experience in histopathology, specialist staining methods, snap freezing, frozen sectioning, and prosection of complex specimens.
* You have strong analytical and meticulous work habits, expert knowledge of tissue preparation, histotechnology, immunohistochemical, and enzyme histochemical techniques, and an ability to consistently deliver accurate results.
* You possess effective communication and teamwork skills, able to work closely with pathologists, trainees, and multidisciplinary colleagues.
