Lab Technician - RNAte An exciting opportunity is currently available for a Lab Technician to join the RNAte Technology Platform at Hudson Institute of Medical Research:We are looking for a candidate with experience in GLP assay and equipment qualification, technology transfer, automation and lab management.
This position will support bioanalytical assay and process development within the RNAte Platform.Your responsibilities include:performing routine analytical assays and process development activities (techniques include but not limited to cell culture, ELISA, flow cytometry beads assays, qPCR, etc.)conducting equipment and process qualification / validationmanage facility and reagents inventory (including ordering and restocking supplies)maintaining collaborations with key stakeholders to support technology transfer of analytical assays and support scale up activities with automationmaintain daily laboratory operations and quality systems in accordance with GLP/ ISO ****/ ISO ***** best practices (e.g. environmental monitoring/ calibration/ maintenance/ validation and cleaning activities) SELECTION CRITERIA The role will suit someone who has:Knowledge of immunology, molecular biology, cell culture and aseptic media preparation, automation/liquid handling and cryopreservation of cellular samples.Understanding of operational/ quality requirements for validation of assays and equipment and technical transfer of assaysHigh level of attention to detail and the ability to complete tasks in a precise and consistent manner.
Qualifications desired: Degree in Science (Life Sciences, Medical Laboratory Sciences or equivalent) with relevant work experienceMinimum 6 months of technical expertise in cell culture and aseptic techniques required.Routine experience in operation of general lab instrumentation, cell-based assays and RNA processes: ELISA, flow cytometry, and qPCR preferred.
EMPLOYMENT TERMS This position is a full time fixed term contract role.
Salary is based on Scientific Support Group ranging from Tap 4-5 dependent on level of experience.
