Role Description
Journalist (Early Career)
We're looking for a Journalist to join the CO-architecture team, with a strong interest in architecture, design, and the built environment. This role is well suited to an early-career journalist or recent graduate who enjoys research, writing, interviewing, and telling thoughtful stories.
You'll contribute to editorial content across the platform, working closely with the team to produce articles, project features, interviews, and written content that connects readers with Australia's architecture and design community.
What You'll Be Doing
Writing and editing editorial content, including articles, project features, and interviews
Researching architecture and design practices, projects, and industry topics
Conducting interviews with architects, designers, and industry professionals
Assisting with content planning and editorial schedules
Supporting the publication of content across the website and newsletters
Contributing to SEO-informed editorial writing (training provided)
Attending industry events and assisting with event-related coverage
Staying across architecture, design, and built environment news in Australia
What You'll Bring
A degree (or currently completing) in journalism, communications, media, or a related field
Strong writing skills and attention to detail
Curiosity and interest in architecture, design, or the built environment
Confidence researching topics and asking thoughtful questions
Ability to work collaboratively in a small, supportive team
Willingness to learn and develop as a journalist
Previous professional experience is welcome but not required strong writing samples or student work are encouraged.
