Position Overview
The General Manager Corporate Services is a senior strategic leader responsible for ensuring the organisation's operational excellence, financial sustainability, governance integrity and administrative capability. This role partners with the CEO and executive team to deliver business-enabling services that allow BCCWA to deliver on its mission to support people affected by breast cancer.
The role leads multiple functions including oversight of Finance, People & Culture, IT, Risk & Compliance, Facilities/Office Services, Legal/Contracts, and Business Support Services.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Executive Contribution
· Serve as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, contributing to the strategic direction, planning and organisational performance.
· Translate organisational strategy into operational plans and measurable outcomes.
· Support the CEO in organisational culture, risk management, stakeholder engagement and change leadership.
Financial Management & Stewardship
· Oversee the organisation's finances, contributing to:
* Budget development, monitoring and reporting
* Forecasting and scenario planning
* Cash flow management
* Financial controls, policies, and compliance
· Ensure timely and accurate management accounts, statutory accounts and audits.
· Work with CEO and Board on financial strategy, sustainability planning and investment decisions.
· Support grant and funding compliance from government and philanthropic sources.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
· Support the Board and sub-committees (e.g., Finance & Risk) with relevant information, reporting and systems.
· Maintain a robust enterprise risk management framework, ensuring risks are identified, assessed and mitigated.
· Oversee compliance with:
* Legal and regulatory obligations (e.g., ASIC, ACNC, Fair Work, privacy)
* Quality and safety standards relevant to services provided
* Funding and reporting commitments
· Drive internal audit and continuous improvement activities.
People & Culture
· Contribute to People & Culture to ensure:
* Effective recruitment, retention and onboarding
* Performance management and development frameworks in place
* Workforce planning aligned to organisational strategy
* Positive employee engagement and wellbeing
· Support leaders and staff through coaching and capability development.
Information Technology & Digital Enablement
· Oversee IT strategy to ensure secure, reliable, and scalable systems.
· Drive digital transformation and adoption of technology that enhances service delivery and business efficiency.
· Ensure robust cyber security, data protection and business continuity planning.
Facilities, Procurement & Operational Services
· Manage workplace operations, facilities and service vendors for cost-effective, safe and functional environments.
· Establish and enforce procurement standards, including value-for-money, ethical sourcing and contract management.
· Oversee organisational insurance and asset management.
Business Support & Administrative Services
· Ensure corporate services (reception, records, mail, travel) are efficient and client/staff friendly.
· Implement policies, procedures and workflows that improve quality, consistency and compliance.
· Drive data-driven decision making through good information and reporting practices.

Strategic Leadership & Executive Capability
* Demonstrated experience operating at senior leadership or executive level, contributing to organisational strategy and decision-making.
* Ability to translate strategy into clear operational plans, systems and priorities.
* Proven capacity to advise and influence the CEO and Board with sound judgement and integrity.
Financial Stewardship & Sustainability
* Strong experience overseeing finance, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting, ideally within a not-for-profit or purpose-driven organisation.
* Demonstrated ability to manage complex funding environments, including grants, philanthropy, government funding and restricted income.
* Track record of strengthening financial controls, risk management and long-term sustainability.
* Confidence presenting financial information in a clear, accessible way to the Board and non-financial stakeholders.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
* Strong understanding of not-for-profit governance, regulatory and statutory obligations (e.g. ACNC, Corporations Act, workplace legislation).
* Experience supporting Boards and Board Committees, including preparation of high-quality papers and reporting.
* Demonstrated leadership in risk management, internal controls, policy frameworks and compliance systems.
* High standards of ethical leadership and accountability.
People, Culture & Workforce Leadership
* Proven experience leading people and culture functions, including HR, workforce planning, performance management and employee relations.
* Demonstrated commitment to building a values-led, inclusive and psychologically safe workplace.
* Ability to lead change with empathy, supporting teams through growth, reform or transformation.
* Strong understanding of WHS and duty of care in a service-delivery environment.
Operational Excellence & Systems
* Experience overseeing corporate services functions such as IT, facilities, procurement, contracts and systems.
* Demonstrated ability to improve systems, processes and efficiencies without losing sight of people and purpose.
* Confidence managing external providers and vendors to deliver value for money and service quality.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
* Highly developed relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across programs, fundraising, services and leadership teams.
* Experience partnering with external stakeholders including auditors, regulators, funders and professional advisers.
