Telecoms Engineer Specialist
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Telecoms Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network design, configuration, and integration, with a focus on critical infrastructure environments.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design, configure, and integrate communications infrastructure projects encompassing IP/MPLS transport networks, radio sites, voice and data communication systems, fibre optic and copper-based transmission systems, and associated ancillary subsystems.
* Lead the end-to-end engineering lifecycle of mission-critical communications networks, with a strong focus on the design, configuration, and integration of secure and highly available IP network solutions.
* Mentor and support junior engineers, contributing to skills development and knowledge transfer across the engineering team.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Minimum 10 years' experience as a Network Engineer with hands-on design, configuration, and integration experience in critical infrastructure environments.
* Cisco CCNP and/or Juniper JNCIS/JNCIP certifications.
* Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical, Telecommunications, or related field), eligible for or holding full membership with Engineers Australia.
* Extensive knowledge and hands-on implementation experience with Cisco MPLS, BGP, and OSPF technologies, as well as Cisco Nexus platforms, including vPC, VDC, and data center architecture design.
* Proven experience designing and deploying highly available, redundant network architectures for large-scale infrastructure projects.
* Strong experience with traffic engineering (MPLS TE/FRR), QoS, ACLs, and secure VPN design.
