Oaks Gladstone Grand Hotel is seeking a passionate and highly skilled Sous Chef to work on a part-time basis. As a key member of the kitchen team, you will be responsible for formulating culinary dishes, supervising and guiding the kitchen and restaurant teams, and ensuring excellence and consistency in the product delivered to customers.
Key Responsibilities Include
* Work alongside, direct and support kitchen team members to ensure exceptional standards in food preparation and presentation.
* Oversee the performance of kitchen team members, upholding a standard of excellence and uniformity in the products offered to guests.
* Assist in creating menus, including cost analysis, to drive business growth and profitability.
* Manage inventory levels, oversee back-of-house food and labour expenses, and implement procedures to ensure high-quality food and excellent service.
* Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and food standards, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
* Recruit, train, and roster kitchen team members, providing opportunities for career development and advancement.
* Craft meals tailored to diverse dietary needs and preferences, including menu modifications to meet discerning culinary requirements.
Shift Details:
* Rotating roster across Monday to Sunday.
* AM and PM shifts available.
Qualifications:
* Hold relevant Certificate III Cookery qualifications.
* At least two years' experience working as a Sous Chef.
* Exceptional leadership skills, with experience in leading and motivating a highly skilled and diverse team.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Availability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
