Our game changing Southern Cross Model brings a deeper, focused learning experience and our research is deeply connected to our regions, making a difference on a global scale. This is your chance to help us build something new and meaningful for our students, our communities and your career. To drive change, make a real impact, and thrive in a place as unique as you.

You can be good anywhere. Here, you can be great.

Your opportunity

As our Student Support Project Coordinator (Safety and Wellbeing) within Student Support and Success, you will lead the implementation of the University's student safety and gender-based violence (GBV) prevention initiatives. This role is critical to meeting national legislative requirements and driving evidence-based prevention, response and reporting frameworks that strengthen safety across our campuses and online environments.

You will make an impact by:

* In collaboration with the Manager Counselling (Safety and Wellbeing), developing and implementing the Southern Cross University student safety action plans and initiatives with a strong focus on prevention and response to GBV Prevention & Response Plan 2026–2030, complying with legislative requirements.
* Designing and delivering prevention campaigns, programs, mandatory training modules and wellbeing initiatives
* Leading projects to enhance student safety and coordinating student risk management systems, disclosure pathways and safety planning processes
* Developing executive-level reporting and continuous improvement measures to ensure compliance and sector best practice

What you will bring

You are an experienced safety and wellbeing professional with strong expertise in gender-based violence prevention and response. You bring a trauma-informed, risk-aware approach and are confident leading initiatives independently while engaging diverse stakeholders across complex environments.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

* A tertiary qualification in social work, health promotion, mental health or a risk/safety related discipline
* Demonstrated experience implementing GBV prevention and response initiatives or organisational student safety action plans
* A sound understanding of national legislative and compliance frameworks relating to student safety in higher education.
* Experience in risk assessment, safety planning and managing disclosures sensitively and appropriately
* Strong project management, reporting and stakeholder engagement skills
* Experience using elearning/risk/CRM systems

It would be highly regarded if you have experience in university settings, domestic and family violence services, or established networks within the GBV prevention sector.
