Role Summary
This is a challenging opportunity for a skilled Naval Architect/Structural Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design and engineering of naval vessels.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of engineering changes for a fleet of minor vessels, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient project delivery.
The ideal candidate will have experience in conducting structural discipline activities, including requirements development, engineering design, design integration, verification and validation.
They will also have demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders at client, peer, supplier and senior leadership levels.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Act as technical interface between stakeholders to derive functional performance and interface requirements.
* Plan and lead assigned engineering projects from concept through to detailed design review.
* Develop and review of engineering documentation such as structural calculations docking calculations stability calculations work instructions test procedures and engineering reports.
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to secure our reputation as a trusted partner in delivering systems integration and mission support solutions.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess:
Qualifications:
* Tertiary qualification in Naval Architecture or Structural Engineering.
* Professional development sufficient to attain recognition as CPEng with Engineers Australia in a relevant engineering stream.
Experience:
* Minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience.
* Experience in conducting structural discipline activities including involvement in one or more of the following System Engineering practices - Requirements Development Engineering Design Design Integration Verification and Validation.
* Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously using initiative sound reasoning listening and decision-making skills.
