WHAT YOU WILL DO

Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the P&C team.
Manage talent acquisition process from recruitment to onboarding.
Provide best practice advice and support to managers/employees on all HR and Employee/Industrial Relations matters including development, performance management and misconduct
Partner with managers on the planning and delivery of their talent acquisition and development strategies.
Research and prepare salary data and benchmarking reports in order to provide advice for recruitment, promotions and changes to roles and structures.
Interpret award entitlements terms and conditions and ensure these are followed accurately.
Work with the Director, P&C and the USU management team on various aspects of people management including organisational development, policy development and review and workforce planning, leading on projects as the opportunity arises.
Manage and maintain the HR Management System (Employment Hero).

ESSENTIALLY YOU WILL HAVE

5+ years' experience as an HR/P&C Generalist, HR business partnering or similar role
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business, Psychology or related field
Ability to move easily between strategic and operational with experience in having contributed to the development of strategic and operational plans at a department level
Demonstrated working knowledge of employment related legislation
Knowledge and experience in interpreting and providing accurate advice on Enterprise Agreements and Awards
Proven successful people management experience
Highly developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to deal with issues in a confidential and sensitive nature
Ability to establish trust and build strong relationships and work across all levels of the organisation with effective stakeholder management skills
Experience using HRM systems, interrogating and analysing data/HR metrics for reporting
Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
Active listener with strong influencing and negotiation skills
Strong organisational/administrative skills with demonstrated attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Experience undertaking case management from grievances to performance issues
Strong business and commercial awareness
Proven ability to analyse and interpret data, particularly HR metrics
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio
The ability to work effectively with varying levels of workload and manage multiple priorities
Positive energy and 'can do' attitude with the ability to demonstrate agility and adaptability

DESRIRABLY YOU MAY HAVE

Member of the Australian Human Resources Institute
Basic knowledge or experience in Project Management
Certificate IV in Training & Assessment
Return to Work Coordinator Accreditation
Experience in Learning & Development
Demonstrated experience working within a university/student focused environment
Working knowledge of the tertiary education sector
Experience working with recruitment management systems such as SCOUT, Sharepoint, etc
Knowledge of Higher Education Industry - General Staff Award
Experience working with Employment Hero

HOURS OF WORK

Full-time, 35 hours per week
