Aboriginal Youth & Disability Support Worker

About the Role
As a Support Worker, you will be one of the most influential people in your clients' life. Your role will be diverse and challenging and will involve direct care for clients in settings such as houses, schools, hospitals, community centres and emergency accommodation.
Responsibilities
* Building a relationship with the people you are caring for.
* Providing around the clock care to participants, following a structured routine developed specifically for their needs.
* Administering medication.
* Transporting the people in our care to and from school, day programs and appointments.
* Assist in the implementation of programs designed for the development of the client.
* Report writing.
Rewards and Development
Our education and development pathway leads toward relevant industry qualifications. The program includes paid induction and probationary training, mentorship, and potential credit toward a Diploma of Community Services with our partnered RTO.
* Paid 5-day Induction program including Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) course.
* Paid 6-month probationary training program with mentorship and on-call support.
* Potential enrolment in CHC52015 Diploma of Community Services with RTO BIAE (RTO no 45241).
* Credit of up to 8 units based on induction completion and performance.
* Rates commence at SCHADS Level 2 Paypoint 1 with progression through qualifications.
Essential Criteria
* Current Working with Children Check (paid employment).
* Current NDIS Worker Check.
* Current First Aid Certificate (Provide First Aid; HLTAID011).
* National Police Check (via approved provider).
* A current driver's licence and a vehicle that can transport upwards of 4 people.
* Comprehensive Car Insurance.
* Certificate of Completion: NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
* Ability to work a 7-day shift roster.
* Willingness to participate in pre-employment medical checks.
* Two professional references.
Note: Prospective staff may need to consent to their details being entered on the Residential Care Worker Register before an offer of employment is made.
Desirable qualifications include Diploma of Community Services or higher, or related fields.
