We specialise in assisting women affected by Domestic and Family Violence, adopting a holistic and culturally safe approach. Our services include law reform, legal representation, client support, financial counselling, and community legal education.

We have launched new services such as School Lawyers and Criminal Law outreach, partnering with health, education and community organisations to create real change.
About the Opportunity
We are looking for a full-time or part-time Social Worker / Local Link Senior Education Officer to join our team in Alice Springs, NT.
This rewarding role involves delivering personalised and planned case-managed support to women accessing CAWLS' legal service, with a strong focus on First Nations women and those referred through health sector partnerships.
You will take a client-centred approach to assist with a range of interconnected issues including housing, health, family violence, reunification, and financial security.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Providing trauma-informed case management and advocacy to CAWLS clients
* Supporting clients with housing, health, financial aid, family reunification and community integration
* Collaborating with CAWLS solicitors to assess and respond to support needs
* Delivering socio-legal education and training for health and community service providers
* Developing e-learning tools and training aligned to the NT DFSV Risk Assessment and Management Framework
* Conducting service mapping and creating referral pathway resources
* Providing secondary consultations and conducting organisational audits for partner agencies
* Participating in research, law reform and evaluation initiatives
* Maintaining accurate data and client records in line with organisational policies
* Attending staff meetings, contributing to team development, and engaging in professional training
About You
To qualify, you will need a relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work (or equivalent) and professional registration or the ability to obtain it.
A strong understanding of the dynamics of domestic, family, and sexual violence (DFSV) is essential, along with experience supporting women from diverse backgrounds, particularly First Nations women.
Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:
* Experience as an adult educator, facilitator or trainer
* Experience delivering services in remote, regional or Aboriginal community contexts
* Experience supporting trauma-affected women with complex needs
* Familiarity with the NT DFSV Risk Assessment and Management Framework
* Confidence using MS Office, Excel, and data systems (e.g. CLASS)
