We specialise in assisting women affected by Domestic and Family Violence, adopting a holistic and culturally safe approach. Our services include law reform, legal representation, client support, financial counselling, and community legal education.

We are committed to empowering women through our work, ensuring their rights are respected and considered.

Our Impact

In the past year, we have supported over 1,500 women across Central Australia and the Barkly Region.

We have launched new services such as School Lawyers and Criminal Law outreach, partnering with health, education and community organisations to create real change.

About the Opportunity

We are looking for a full-time or part-time Social Worker / Local Link Senior Education Officer to join our team in Alice Springs, NT.

This rewarding role involves delivering personalised and planned case-managed support to women accessing CAWLS' legal service, with a strong focus on First Nations women and those referred through health sector partnerships.

You will take a client-centred approach to assist with a range of interconnected issues including housing, health, family violence, reunification, and financial security.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Providing trauma-informed case management and advocacy to CAWLS clients

* Delivering socio-legal education and training for health and community service providers
* Developing e-learning tools and training aligned to the NT DFSV Risk Assessment and Management Framework
* Conducting service mapping and creating referral pathway resources
* Providing secondary consultations and conducting organisational audits for partner agencies
* Participating in research, law reform and evaluation initiatives
* Maintaining accurate data and client records in line with organisational policies
* Attending staff meetings, contributing to team development, and engaging in professional training

About You

To qualify, you will need a relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work (or equivalent) and professional registration or the ability to obtain it.

A strong understanding of the dynamics of domestic, family, and sexual violence (DFSV) is essential, along with experience supporting women from diverse backgrounds, particularly First Nations women.

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

* Experience as an adult educator, facilitator or trainer

* Familiarity with the NT DFSV Risk Assessment and Management Framework
* Confidence using MS Office, Excel, and data systems (e.g. CLASS)

As our ideal candidate, you will be a passionate and committed advocate for gender equality and social justice.

You'll be a confident communicator, emotionally resilient, highly organised, and capable of working both autonomously and collaboratively.

Please note: This is a female-identified position under Sections 30 and 34 of the Sex Discrimination Act 1984.

You will receive a competitive base salary plus 12% superannuation (commensurate with skills and experience), along with a great host of benefits, including:

* Relocation assistance up to $3,000 and support provided to make Alice Springs your new home
