Job Description:
As part of DTN APAC's Meteorological Operations team, this role is responsible for delivering high-quality, reliable meteorological products and services that directly support our B2B and B2C customers. Working under the direction of the Director of Meteorology, you will play a key role in helping clients make informed, weather-driven decisions by translating complex weather and climate data into clear, actionable insights.

What you will be responsible for:
* Monitoring and analyzing evolving weather and climate patterns to identify and communicate potential impacts to customers
* Producing and delivering accurate weather forecasts, graphical products, and interpretive commentary for B2B and B2C platforms
* Providing customized meteorological briefings to customers via phone and videoconference, including proactive alerts for significant weather events
* Supporting media engagements, including weather-related interviews and presentations for radio, print, and online channels
* Maintaining service quality through data quality control, adherence to procedures and style guides, and meeting all operational deadlines
* Collaborating with Operations Support and the wider team to identify service issues early and contribute to continuous improvement
* Participating in team initiatives, meetings, and ongoing training to support capability development within the Meteorology function
What you will bring to the role:
* A tertiary qualification in meteorology, atmospheric science, or climatology (WMO BIP-M compliant qualifications highly desirable)
* A strong understanding of Australian weather patterns and the end-to-end weather forecasting process
* Proven analytical skills, including the ability to interpret spatial weather patterns and assess weather-related impacts
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical information for diverse audiences
* A customer-focused mindset with the ability to work calmly under pressure and meet strict deadlines
* Confidence working both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
* A commitment to continuous professional development and maintaining high quality and safety standards

Compensation
The targeted hiring base pay range for this position is between AUD 63,750 and AUD 85,000 annually. DTN is a pay-for-performance organization, which means there is the opportunity to advance your compensation with performance over time. The actual base pay offered for this position will be dependent upon many factors, including but not limited to: prior work experience, training/education, transferable skills, business needs, internal equity and applicable laws. The targeted hiring base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for market competitive variable pay and benefits.
