About The Role
The Sustainability Analyst is responsible for supporting the delivery of AEMO's sustainability strategy and reporting, including the development of systems and processes that enable strategic insights and the delivery of our internal and external sustainability reporting suite that meets new and emerging climate disclosure and sustainability reporting requirements.
This involves supporting a wide range of projects and relationships internally and externally with the goal of demonstrating AEMO's sustainability efforts to our customers, team members, communities, investors, industry and other key stakeholders. To succeed in this role, it is essential you have a strong background in corporate sustainability (or similar fields) and are proficient in the management and delivery of projects with desired experience in sustainability project management.
What You Will Be Doing
* Support the development and implementation of AEMO's sustainability strategy, tailoring in response to changing internal and external conditions in close coordination with the Sustainability Lead and Management.
* Be a subject matter expert on AEMO's sustainability program, including our responses to growing external trends and stakeholder expectations so we remain an industry leader
* Collaborate with business units to help operationalise the sustainability strategy; assist to deliver programs to meet sustainability targets and business objectives
* Support the delivery of sustainability reporting and disclosures in line with ASRS, GRI, and other relevant frameworks
* Support the development and implementation of processes to capture key information such as Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions data, and climate change-related risk and scenario analysis data.
* Help design systems and reports to automate data collection and minimise duplication of effort in managing ESG data. Assist to identify and rectify control weaknesses and deficiencies in sustainability data and reports.
What You Will Bring To The Role
* Previous experience supporting delivery of social and environmental impact/sustainability strategies and projects in corporate environments
* Knowledge and appreciation of current social and environmental issues and trends in Australia and globally.
* Ability to foster relationships with stakeholders, both internal and external, in the context of sustainability.
* Previous experience working with key global and Australian sustainability frameworks and methodologies e.g. ASRS, ISSB, GRI, UN Global Compact, Climate Active Certification, TCFD.
* Ability to contribute to high standard Board and Executive papers and external reports and help facilitate training and workshops.
