About The Opportunity
The primary purpose of this position is to carry out a wide range of hands-on engineering tasks to ensure the optimal functioning of the rendering plant.
Reporting directly to the Engineering Supervisor, some of your responsibilities will include:
Assisting with the installation of new equipment and processing lines.
Troubleshooting and assisting operators in unblocking production lines.
Performing general engineering maintenance, including welding and fabrication.
Replacing gland packing, carbons, and performing a wide variety of maintenance work.
Refurbishing and replacing pumps, gearboxes, bearings, and other mechanical components.
This is a full-time role with standard hours from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with overtime available as required. Occasional planned Sunday work may occur. Once trained and confident, you will be included in a 4-week rotating on-call roster. While call-outs are not frequent, a minimum of 3 hours' pay is provided per call-out. If called out on a public holiday, you will receive double time plus a day in lieu.

The successful candidate will have:
A strong work ethic and ability to work both independently and within a team.
A desire to learn and develop new skills across varied engineering responsibilities.
Hands-on experience with pumps, gearboxes, bearings, and breakdown maintenance.
A willingness to be part of an on-call roster and work occasional weekends when required.
A proactive, can-do attitude and the ability to commit to big hours during production breakdowns.
Qualifications as a fitter/welder or strong experience in welding and general engineering maintenance.
